"I put a box like this on my desk last year and it was ALWAYS full of notes, stories and drawings from my kids. If they began to tell a story during a lesson I'd say "oh! box!" This way I heard the story AND kept the lesson going"
This is a classroom helpers board, but I like the idea of using it as a home faith formation thing - each pocket is a category of prayer and each stick is a person you know and you can have a visual of who to pray for what (with elementary-aged kids). Maybe this would be overwhelming or maybe it would help visually organize your prayers. Just an idea...
these are sight word pointers and are great for finding sight words in books. The children choose a pointer and look for that word as they read. I printed the words on colored cardstock stars and taped them to straws. They've lasted a couple of years!
French Fry Sight Word Game. Each child gets a french fry container. The sight word "fries" (painted popsicle sticks) are placed on the table. Children take turns reading the sight words on the "fries", collecting the ones read correctly and placing them in their container. Could get kids to write the words from their containers after the game is finished.
"French Fry" Sight Word Activity (from Apples and ABC's; see site for free recording sheet)
a great reminder for students!
DOLCH SIGHT WORDS [I have/Who has] I'm so excited about this product!! It comes with FIVE different games to play with students, one game for each word list: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and even 3rd grade. Print on card stock, laminate, cut, and you have an easy resource to use throughout the years to reach all levels of students in your class!
