Make a hinged mirror and hang it on a closet door. Attach a hook to keep it closed when not in use. Hang hooks, etc. on the back for belts, scarves, or other items.

Those packages of pre-sliced apples: Make your own by slicing apples, soak in cold water for 3-5 minutes, then soak in a lemon-lime carbonated soda (such as 7-up or sprite) for 3-5 minutes. Divide into snack size portions and store in Ziploc bags in the fridge. The lemon-lime soda will keep the apples from browning and make them last longer.

Scrub your cast iron with coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt is a natural abrasive and will absorb oil and lift away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt and wipe dry. So good to know.

kill mold!!!Mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil per 1 cup of water. Spray onto the surface with mold and allow to dry, do not rinse. This will kill the mold spores without creating harsh chemical fumes as other cleaners, such as bleach, would.

De-tarnish ALL your silver ALL at once... line your sink with aluminum foil, add 1/2 c table salt, 1/2 c. baking soda, fill with hot water, then dump in all your silver! Let sit for about 30 min. The tarnish all transfers to the foil. {Really?}

Good old Martha taught us that rather than buying those ridiculously expensive anti-slip mats for a rug, just turn it over and run a few lines of acrylic-latex caulk every 6 inches or so. Let dry and flip over and your rug wont be going anywhere!
