E. Caldwell signature

A Belle Epoque emerald, diamond, and seed pearl pendant/brooch, by J.E. Caldwell & Co. The pierced old European-cut diamond plaque, enhanced by alternating old European-cut diamond and calibré-cut emerald detail, to the seed pearl trim and central sugarloaf cabochon emerald, suspending a pendant of similar design, mounted in platinum, circa 1915, in a green leather case Signed J.E.C & Co., no. 31682 (indistinct). Suspending to the front with a tassel of twenty-four graduated seed pearl strands measuring approximately 2.20 to 4.40mm, supported by a seed pearl necklace, highlighted by circular-cut diamond-set floral links and clasps, the diamonds together weighing approximately 2.40 carats, mounted in platinum, length approximately 730mm, signed J.E.C. & Co. and numbered F4204, tassel detachable. Centered by an old European-cut diamond weighing 2.83 carats, accented by rose and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.00 carat, size 6¼, signed J.E.C & Co., numbered 115219, both the signature and number are partially obscured, two rose-cut diamonds missing, circa 1920.
