Monument to the May 10, 1933 Book burning: Designed by Micha Ullmann, empty bookshelves, enough to hold all 20,000 burned books, visible below the pavement of Bebelplatz in Berlin, Germany. Besides the glass plate there are two bronze plaques, including a memorable quote from Heinrich Heine's play Almansor: "Where one burns books, it is only a prelude; in the end one also burns people" circa 1820.

Klevan, Ukraine - this 3km section of private railway serves a nearby fibreboard factory. A train runs around thrice daily through the ethereal 'tunnel' - delivering wood to the factory. At other times the beautiful avenue of trees is witness to a very different journey, for it is a favoured spot for young romantics to stroll with that special someone.
