I learned how to sew basic things years ago in Home Ec and from my mother - currently in the process of "re-learning" how to sew now that I have a daughter and looking for simple and fun projects.
Save clothes from the first year of life of your children & make them quilts and give them to them as gifts at a milestone in their lives (first communion or 16th birthday or wedding baby showers...or anything that comes up before that) when they will appreciate the meaning of it. :) Baby Clothing Quilts, Baby Outfits, Baby Quilts, Baby Clothes Quilt, Little Girls Quilts, Baby Girls Modern Outfits, Babies Clothes, Kids Clothing, Regular Mom
The baby outfits you can't part with made into a quilt... perfect!
Bath Mat from old Towels or t-Shirts 1. First, wash and dry the towels you’ll be using for your mat. 2. Decide how big you want your bath rug to be by measuring the dimensions on the flour, e.g.. in from of your shower recess, as shown here. 3. Purchase gridded matting and cut it to those dimensions. This usually sits under floor rugs to avoid slipping and is also called ‘rug canvas’ or ‘anti-slip mat’.4. Cut the towels into 5-6” long pieces, approx. 3/4” thick. Repurposed towels into a bath mat. This is genius.
My party favour for a recent baby Valentine's party - nothing more adorable than a baby with a bow tie!
Love this idea for old baby clothes I can't bear to part with (if I can get the nerve up to cut them!).
Homegrown Happy: Baby's Soft Book of Colors
Beanbag letters! Perfect for a crafty name project - used now for baby to play with, and later to learn how to spell her name.
Great idea and so easy to personalize.
A pillowcase dress - this is made from fabric but you can also make them from actual pillowcases.
