Frances McDormand is a pregnant police chief who investigates a series of homicides. The film won two Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress (McDormand), and was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing.
