Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; 1926 – 1962) was an American actress, model & singer who became a major sex symbol starring in a number of successful movies in the 1950s & early '60s. Her death in 1962 was officially classified as "probable suicide" from an overdose of barbiturates, but the possibilities of an accidental overdose or a homicide have not been ruled out.
