Been doing this for years! My mother taught it to me! Unopened can of condensed milk + 8 hours on low (completely submerged in water) in the crock pot + cool down in the fridge = Caramel! This is the best caramel I've ever had, let alone made! It's so easy! Need to try this!

I've been looking for a recipe for this! How to make your own condensed milk: 3/4 cup powdered milk 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 cup hot water Directions: In small bowl combine the powdered milk and the sugar. Set aside Put hot water into blender. Start blender. With blender going pour in the powdered milk /sugar mixture. Blend until smooth. This recipe equals one can of store bought condensed milk.
