DIY: no lye soap body wash

No Lye Soap Body Wash
  • Jessica Etheridge

Just FYI- All soap has lye as an original ingredient. It is either cured or cooked to get rid of the lye, but has to have lye in order to complete the saponification process. I make soap and my brother is a chemist. We have discussed this at length as people are turned off by the label "lye soap." When cured, (left to dry for 4-6 weeks) it is e extremely good for your skin. Some of my clients purchase it to help with eczema, psoriasis, and keratosis pilaris.
