21-Day Detox Food Diary

Here's every last thing I consumed doing a 21-day Detox Challenge to get slimmer, lose actual blubber and change the way I eat. Lost 6 pounds - more than 3 of those were pure fat! I'm continuing to post detox-worthy foods on this board so we'll all have some variety for the next detox endeavor.

Power Crunch protein energy bar (peanut butter creme flavor) - Real food is always better for you on detox. That said, if you find yourself in a crunch, there's this. Contains a little over 1 tsp of sugar and I have to say is DELICIOUS. Weeks 2 & 3. In case of emergency.

Mango protein shake: 8 oz unsweetened(!) vanilla almond milk, 1.5 scoops whey protein powder, about 8 frozen mango pieces (easy find at Trader Joe's) - Weeks 2 & 3

Grilled fish with zucchini, yellow squash and dill. (This doesn't have to be grilled - you can bake it, too.)

Parchment Poached Salmon Pouches: This looks super fancy, but isn't that tough to make. Awesomely nutritious detox meal.

Excellent detox dish: Artichoke Tomato Halibut en Papillote

Smoked Salmon + Dill in Greek yogurt. (From blog post 'Snacking in SoHo: The #Chobani Store')

Decaf skim cappuccino from Macchiato on 46th between Madison & 5th.

3 scrambled eggs with salsa and avocado. At Cafe Lalo on the Upper West Side.

Roasted Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp - Great to have on its own in week #1 - or serve with quinoa for weeks #2 and #3.

Moroccan Roasted Cauliflower - substitute the butter with olive oil for this one.
