Vintage Gurley Christmas Candles

My favorite vintage Christmas candles are from the Gurley Novelty line of candles. Gurley Novelty started out in Buffalo, New York in 1939 as part of candlemaker Franklin Gurley's W&F Manufacturing Co. Inc.. Gurley's first products were marketed under the name Tavern. In 1949 Franklin Gurley bought the rights to the Tavern brand, and changed the name to the Gurley Novelty Co.

I have several of these. Their heads were just dipped in black, it's funny because below the chin it is white.

This is the short winged angel. I have a couple of these, and some of the larger glittery winged angels.
