Planting Tips For The Self Watering Rain Gutter Grow System!

Highly classified from the Buss wizard book is the addition of a small amount of garden lime and Epsom salt to help prevent BER and promote more flowers (I look up Epsom salt and find that it is a natural mineral discovered in Epsom, England) Interesting.

Lay down a thick layer of CARDBOARD in your raised garden beds to kill the grass. It is perfectly safe to use and will fully decompose, but not before killing any grass below it. They’ll also provide compost and food for worms. WORKS BEAUTIFULLY.

Line your raised bed with chicken wire to keep out gophers and moles!

Cut the bottom off a plastic pot to contain invasive plants & bury in the ground. I have been doing this for a few years & works great for containing plants that tend to spread, but that I still want to plant in the garden. This also works good for planting a plant in an area that tends to get filled with roots etc. from other plants. I will use a larger pot so that the plant can spread it's roots and grow deeper roots, but keeps other tree roots from choking out the one I planted.
