Books, books, books.
"It's Ok. You have our permission. These books are from our Young Adult section. But it's OK to read them even if you are no longer, by any stretch of the imagination, young. In fact, you'll find they often have provocative themes and complex characters that are the equal of most of the books you'll find on the "adult" fiction shelves these days. So don't sheepishly tell us it's for your kids. We've read them, and you can too."
"Men must have corrupted nature a little, because they weren't born wolves, yet they've become wolves: God didn't give them twenty-four-pounders or bayonets, but they've made themselves bayonets and cannons with which to destroy each other."
VOLTAIRE, Candide ou L'Optimisme
"The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde." It drives me insane that most people don't know the actual title.
The Uglies series. (I don't count "Extras.") Don't know how they're going to manage to make this into a movie.
Author: Cassandra Clare Title: The Mortal Instruments (series) Amazingly well written books that were only meant to be a Trilogy. I read the fourth when it came out and immediately wish i hadn't. Unfortunately (and i hate to say this about one of my favorite authors) she did not want to let it go and be finished w this particular series. In my opinion, the 3rd book had the most perfect bitter sweet ending you could hope for. So if you decide to read, stop @ 3. You're welcome! :p
Mortal Instruments. I miss the simplicity and the not-broken-up-Magnus-and-Alec-ness of when the series stopped at three.
Wicked Lovely Series. So amazing. ♥ Irial & Niall.
One of the first books I remember reading in elementary school.
