remember to pick up an extra calorie king book for the school to have on file, also give additional trusted references for carb counting help. We label ALL of the foods we send to school, but for those birthday celebrations, etc that I can't always be prepared for, references are good to have handy!
ADA Camp Discovery: Diabetes camps are a great way to encourage social interaction in children with diabetes. It teaches them that they are just like other children and creates lifelong connections. Additionally, this helps instill confidence and independence in kids who may feel like diabetes is controlling their lives.
