a little box with a big window that opens to the surrounding landscape. The window-wall (30 feet by 20 feet) opens the entire living space to the forest and lake. Materials are low maintenance—concrete block, steel, concrete floors and plywood— left unfinished to naturally age and acquire a patina that fits in with the natural setting.
Same materials, over and over, the Vernacular is clear, part Jetsons, part King Arthur, slight tilt on the face plane, delicious.
Huge, 2 story Window Wall is perfectly balanced to tilt open easily and close snugly. Right side feels like a garage, left side like a loft, huge cylindric fireplace with wood details. Awesome.
