One of my favs! We do this during our bug unit. I read "The Grouchy Ladybug" by Eric Carl. Then I take a picture of them looking grouchy, then they watercolor the ladybug and cut it out and put the legs on. I also have them write a sentence about what makes them grouchy. ~Tracey

Brown Bear Silly Sentences: This is a literacy center activity that you can add to your Brown Bear unit at the start of the year. Great to reinforce color words and sentence sequencing skills. There are 9 different silly sentences to use in a pocket chart of literacy center. Also included is a recording sheet and mini-book for students to write color words for each animal.

Read GO AWAY, BIG GREEN MONSTER!, and then have kids create their own monsters, using colors and shapes to tell you about themselves (monster glyphs). Very cool idea. Will require parent support for preschool children.

Very Hungry Caterpillar. Have the children "feed" the canister caterpillar all the felt food while you read the story. Great intro to hungry caterpillar lesson.
