Who doesn't love guacamole? And seriously, it's totally against my MO to call something I made the world's best, but I think that the secret to guacamole is to make it yourself using the freshest of ingredients. So do it. Make everyone at your Superbowl party happy (even the kids!) and forgo the store bought guacamole. It's so simple to make (this version took me five minutes) assuming you can use a knife and a fork. We are lucky in California that we have a steady supply of perfect avocados almost year round. When you're at the store, try to pick an avocado that feels heavy. According to The Kitchn, you should look at the little button at the end. If it's green underneath, you're good to go. If it's brown, your avocado will be overripe and a slimy mess. We like our dip chunky and full of fresh ingredients. The great thing about guac is you can totally just change up the quantity or the ingredients based on your own taste preferences. I'll never understand the cilantro haters out there, but if cilantro tastes like soap to you, go ahead and leave it out. So here it is. Everything you need to make the world's best guacamole. Just dice it up, smash it all together with a fork, and serve. WHAT YOU NEED * 2 avocados * 1/3 cup diced tomatoes * 1/4 cup chopped red onion * 2 tbsp roughly chopped cilantro * 1 tbsp minced jalapeno * 1 clove minced garlic * juice of 1/2 a lime (more or less to taste) * salt to taste WHAT YOU DO Mix it in a bowl and serve with chips. Or on a guacamole grilled cheese. Or on toasted garlic bread. (Sometimes I just eat it with a spoon. IT'S THAT GOOD). Happy Super Bowl Watching. Go Broncos.
