DYI- Old Jumper this is what i wear around the house every day- hubby's hand-me-down shirts (because his tee shirt collection is HUGE) cut up in fanciful ways.
Yes this works...great idea. But...make sure you start with a shirt that is considerably larger than you normally wear. I went only one size up...and by the time I finished, it was a little tight (due to the wrapping of the back) for exercising in. And I cut it too short. Good thing it was a t-shirt I wasn't going to wear anyways...

Each vertical strip is attached at their tops to the shirt, the horizontal strips are attached on both ends (you can just cut horizontal slits in an existing shirt.). Then, you weave the vertical strips through the horizontal strips an sew the bottom! Now to find a shirt I want to cut up....
