Bazinga - an awesome review game for most any subject and any grade. Students are in teams, I ask questions, and the students answers them. If a team is correct they have the chance to pick a Bazinga Card and we do what it says (e.g. double your score, erase 1 point from another team, switch the team captain of the winning team with the team captain of the losing team, etc.).

Hello Literacy: Progress Monitoring vs. monitoring progress
Activity Sticks! Basically, when the kids are starting to drift I say "activity time!", I set the timer for one minute and draw an activity. We then do the activity until we finish or the timer goes off. The kids love it! You'd be surprised how excited they get when I draw push ups, especially the boys! Haha, show offs. :)
Science - Open up the pumpkin, add a little soil and water, and watch the seeds (which are already inside the pumpkin) grow. // FUN - need to remember this for next year!
Kindergarten Sight Words - print & laminate. An activity to do would be to get clothespins write one letter on each clothespin (some letters you will need more than 1 of - such as 2 e's for "here" or "please"), and then match the clothespins to the letters of each sight word, and then say the sight word
fun sight words
This activity involves a "pretend" keyboard... I like the idea of doing this with a real one. This summer, I think I'll print some sight words and place on the keyboard and have Jack type them out... Good practice with sight words AND additional practice with keyboard skills. I was told they use computers in the first week of school!!
