Books Worth Reading
The Top 32 Popular Fiction Books for Book Clubs. Of the 32, I have read a total of 4. I already have 12 of the books on the list, but haven't read them yet. There are 2 books on the list that I tried to read, but couldn't get through. Finally, several of the remaining 14 books on this list are ones that I would like to read in the future. Overall, a great list!
A wonderful piece of historical fiction by a first-time author. She writes through the eyes of two narrators, one a young Irish girl, an indentured servant, and the other, a young female slave, on a plantation in Virginia at the turn of the 18th century. I loved the book and it's characters that live on after the book is closed.
This was a fascinating book and quick read.
The first book I downloaded when I got my Kindle. I had to stop reading my Kindle in public because I was freaking people out laughing to myself.
I read this every single summer throughout high school and college. Judy Blume proves that she appeals to all ages.
I expected to not like this book because the first few pages in 5 y/o child speak was hard to understand but it got better as the storyline got deeper. I had to find out what happened so it was one of those "read in one day" books. Makes me want to play with my own kids more too because sometimes I feel like those "rushed adults" in the outside world he was describing.
Read this in less than 48 hours. Literally could not put it down. Beware that this is *not* a light read.
Just finished reading this book. A little long but found it really compelling.
