Try a modern japanese dry garden. Great idea for hot and dry weather conditions. Use some appropriately selected pots with really exotic floral arrangements to add some color. Use a hidden drip line to keep them watered in some properly placed pottery. Elegant, nice, easy to maintain and relaxing to enjoy. A great place to nap or read. modern japanese garden, japanese gardens ideas, modern japanese design, studio apartments, dri garden, japanes dri, modern zen garden, tropical gardens, outdoor design

Could easily be made with hollow box uprights, run the water tube through one and the top hollow box with a PVC tube that you drill holes in for the water to run out. Faux paint it to look like copper, really pretty easy. waterfalls, waterfeatures, fountains, water features, outdoor showers, gardens, hous, backyard, rain

This is a little modernistic for you, I think, but it shows square vegetable beds with gravel walkways, which I think looks great. Plus you could do them in wood instead.
