Put salt in the empty spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way up with white vinegar. Add a squirt of liquid dish soap. This solution works best if you use it on a hot day. This is how to make a vertical garden design for planting a tower of herbs at home. It is a great space utilization idea. Or if you don’t have time to build it yourself, just get this ready-to-use stack-a-pot we found out earlier.

Smoke bush - this is a wonderful bush for the garden. The blooms are very airy, thus the name "smoke" bush. Also changes colors with the seasons. Highly drought tolerant, tree/shrub

Drip irrigation- I do this every year and it works great! Especially during a long Texas drought- less water waste. The only thing that kept my plants going, and once the plants get growing they hide the bottles. Quick and easy way to fertilize too!

Sweeten your tomatoes by sprinkling baking soda on the soil around your tomato plants.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I start my summer garden in December and January, using a neat trick called “Winter-Sowing.” Winter-sowing is an outdoor method of seed germination (invented by Trudi Davidoff) which requires just two things: miniature greenhouses (made from recycled milk jugs) and Mother Nature. You can winter-sow your way to a beautiful garden, too…for pennies. Here’s how:

use banana peels when you plant tomatoes to add lots of nutrients to them just lay the peels in the hole and cover with dirt as it breaks down the plant gets lots of yummies

As you plant, put Epsom salts and sugar into each hole. Plants will grow larger, leafier and greener. 4(epsom salts) to 1(sugar) ratio.

Amazing Organic Weed Killer Spray. 1/2 gallon of Apple Cider Vinegar 1/4 c table salt 1/2 tsp Dawn liquid dish soap Mix and pour into a spray bottle Spray weeds thoroughly. It makes 1/2 gallon for around $6.40 It worked better than Round Up & killed the weeds on first application. The Dawn dish soap strips the weed of it's protective oils so the vinegar can work with deadly force. Safe to use a yard used by pets

Remember for Spring ~ Add 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt to a gallon of water and spray your lawn for a lusher, greener lawn. Epsom salt is loaded with magnesium!

Each time you crack an egg open, instead of tossing the shell into the trash, drop it into an open container that you keep in the fridge. (Ive always saved my shells, but my friend Susan suggested keeping them in the fridge works beautifully.) When the container is full, crush the shells into small bits and sprinkle them around the base of your plants. The sharp eggshells will deter slugs, snails, and other bugs from nibbling on your garden and add a touch of calcium to the soil

Pinner says: this is the BEST Weed Spray. I made 3 gallons for around $4.00 last year after seeing a pin. Worked better than Round Up & killed the weeds/stray grass on first application. One gallon of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, 1/2 c table salt, 1 tsp Dawn. Mix and pour into a smaller spray bottle.
