Homemade Microwave Puffy Paint ~ Mom's Crafty Space. one cup of flour mixed in 3 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt enough water to make it the consistency of pancake batter. Cut out your shape from the flat/smooth part of the styrofoam. apply a thin layer of paint. Remember less is more when making prints. Then allow kids to draw on the painted foam heart. place a paper on top, press and pull it out. It is like magic each time, when you pull the paper to reveal the print.

Train Up a Child: Sidewalk Chalk Paint. fill your container of choice halfway with cornstarch. use muffin tins. Add food coloring. Add water to the colored cornstarch and give a quick stir. add the food coloring before the water, because it distributes the color more evenly. a ratio of 1 part water to 1.5 parts cornstarch.

Kids putty: 3 cups of water into a cooking pot. Add 4 cups of baking soda and 3 cups of cornstarch. Stir the three ingredients together with a fork to break up any clumps in the baking soda or cornstarch. Add a few drops of food coloring to the putty mixture before thickening it.
