Spider web game. Just use painter's tape to make the web and have the kids throw wads of paper at it to see if they can get it to stick.
Awana Grand Prix car, this one took an award for best Christian theme. Can't remember what place it got. This was in 2007 and we had 3 cars this year, 2 for kids and 1 for the leaders' race.
Awana Grand Prix car, Mr Hamster (named after our Awana commander) was designed by our 5th grader and she received a design award for this.
Easy & cheap table decorations for AWANA Award Night: Containers are Chinese takeout boxes (bought them at a craft store). I weighted them with a handful of marbles. I printed out clip art from the AWANA Website, cut it into square and edged the sides with stamp ink. I matted some with card-stock. I glued clip art to paint sticks (one on each side). I stuffed the containers with tissue paper and a balloon napkin. I added a few pipe cleaners for color.
I made super cute & cheap cupcakes for our AWANA Award Night. I printed clip art off of the AWANA web site for each club (2 for each cup cake). I cut them into neat square shapes and edged them with a stamp ink. I glued both pieces on each side of a Popsicle stick. I colored the store bought icing in AWANA colors and then piped the icing onto the cupcakes with a Ziploc bag that I cut the corner off of. Finally, just add sprinkles.
