Places I’d Like to Go
The Bahamas. Gorgeous, crystal blue waters and pristine beaches. The problem: the native people who work in the restaurants and hotels. They don't seem to like Americans very much. We're not "ugly" Americans and are respectful of all cultures, but this was really bad. We were literally starving, waiting for our meals... it was too much of an ordeal. Hopefully it has changed since we've been there, but reports tell me it's still the same. SO sad.
Wonder where this is? This color is naturally occurring when the river, stream or lake is fed from glacier run off. The mineral base that causes it is generally finely ground limestone called 'rock flour'. Lake Louise in Banff Canada is an example. Also check out Moraine Lake, another glacier fed lake that is bright milky turquoise in color. ... Ok, enough science. ;)
bora bora, tahiti. When can I go??
Castle Leslie - The estate of Castle Leslie generously consists of three lakes, rolling parkland and a fine covering of mature native hardwoods. A variety of trees such as Oak, Ash, Sycamore and Yew form part of the ancient woods of Truagh that goes back to Celtic times. The main castle can be booked exclusively for events, where as the Hunting Lodge is available on a bed and breakfast basis.
