Never Apologize for Having High Standards
"If we don't teach our children to follow Christ, the world will teach them not to."
Isaiah 41:10 One of my favorite Bible verses, and the inspiration for one of my favorite hymns! (www.lds.org/...)
If U have a daughter....1 Peter 3:3 for a sign in her bathroom, I actually want one for my bathroom
Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff. ~Catherine M. Wallace~
"Don't save something for a special occasion. Every day of your life is a special occasion."
Something I've really been trying to deal with lately. I want control over my own life, but need to trust that GOD will bring me through the struggles and the hurt. HE is in control and has a perfect plan for my life. Maybe this is all a learning experience. He's saying "give ME control dearest daughter, I will lead you through this."
Definitely need to remind myself of this daily...
Marjorie Pay Hinckley - “I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.”
