KINDERGARTEN - Here's what I did in Kindergarten last year and it worked well -- I put their names on the boxes for the first week, and I checked their boxes daily to see who did/did not recognize their name. I then asked the children to glue their photos onto the boxes right below their name on the box. This was a great way to keep writing journals and daily papers.
Put students pictures on the book boxes!!

B & D Reversals Posters Amy says--Awesome I can never tell my B & D's apart--this is how I remember it--you turn your back to mom (she had the Boobs-thus the B shape and the small circle is facing away from her), but never to Dad (-a big belly on D and the small circle facing him--does that make sense) Not what I want to teach kids to be rude to there mom, but that is how I remember
b and d reversals
I wasn't talking. Funny, because you were.

When the light's on, students may not talk to you. What a FABULOUS idea! Perfect for assessment time
5 Star Writing in Kindergarten
Writing center. Have class names in a basket (and laminate)! I like how the laminated tracing pages are on clipboards.
