In early Gullah cuisine, many of the dishes were cooked in one big pot. Meat, poultry, or fish were often cooked together with vegetables, peppers, legumes, and rice or potatoes. The original Gullahs had few items of cookware, so big iron kettles were used. Cooking and sharing food meant more to the Gullahs than supplying the body with sustenance. It was almost ritualistic in nature, feeding the soul as well as the body. As the Gullahs describe their cuisine, it’s “food that speaks to ya.”

OH MY!!! must try! 3/4 bag ziti noodles,1 lb of ground beef, 1 pkg taco seasoning, 1cup water, 1/2 pkg cream cheese, 1 1/2 cup shredded cheese -- boil pasta until just cooked, brown ground beef drain, mix taco seasoning 1 cup water w/ ground beef for 5 min, add cream cheese to beef mixture, stir until melted remove from heat, put pasta in casserole dish, mix in 1 cup cheese, top pasta/cheese with beef mixture gently mix, top w/ remaining cheese, bake at 350* uncovered for 15-20 minutes

Place stew meat in 6-quart slow cooker. Cover with enchilada sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours. Shred beef.
