Florida Memory - Majorettes and a marching band in a parade - New Smyrna Beach, Florida

Stella was a majorette in high school. She bought me a twirling baton, and she taught me to twirl it. To this day, I can twirl and do the figure 8 she taught me, and a couple of other types of twirls. What fun. Just another set of great memories she gave me. ♥

Every girl in upper elementary took lessons from the high school drum majorettes and learned to twirl a baton. They were our heroes and we wanted to grow up to be like them so we could wear the boots with the tassles!
