Retro Beauties

I'm very drawn to the period between the 1920's & 1950's. There was major progress in the Women's Movement and it was evident in the film. Women were finally able to express themselves through beauty & fashion. They were not afraid to feel & act sexy. I also love the fun illustrated pin-ups popular at this time which depict beauty & sexiness without raunchiness. There's also some modern retro-inspired pics. You'll notice Marilyn is one of my fave retro gals. Yes, she's pretty & her quotes are cute & sassy but my fanfare goes beyond that. I've seen & read quite a few biographies - some more biased than others - and have truly fallen in love with her as an actress, entertainer and of course a beautiful model but mostly as a person. She comes across very "human" to me and relateable. Something that lacks in the industry today.

It's actually Lisa Marie Presley made up to look like Marilyn. It's in a Richard Avedon book. Check it out. :)
