This board was created to promote Autism awareness. Did you know that 1 in 88 children are born with autism? Out of that number 1 in 54 are boys. The statistic for girls is 1 in 252. Consider donating to Autism United or another great charity that helps fund research for this often misdiagnosed and very misunderstood disorder.

With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.

Sometimes you have all the correct pieces, but they still don't want to fit together. Such is the life of a parent with an autistic child. I have friends who have autistic relatives. My heart goes out to the caregivers who sacrifice so much just to ensure that their loved one has as close to a normal life as possible. #AutismUnited

Life with autism can feel like a Rubix Cube where the sides never, ever match. You keep manipulating the sides, but can never solve the puzzle. Do your part, raise awareness.

I challenge everyone to use an image similar to this for your twitter and Facebook profile pictures for a week to raise awareness about autism.

Which piece of the puzzle represents your experience with autism?

Did you know? Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. Autism costs the nation $137,000,000,000 per year. Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases. Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism. There is no medical detection or cure for autism.
