Cézanne and the Modern - opens 13 March 2014 at the Ashmolean Museum. See extraordinary masterpieces by some of the most famous artists of the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements. This major exhibition includes a matchless group of paintings and watercolours by Paul Cézanne, as well as paintings and sculptures by artists including Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas and Amedeo Modigliani.

Francis Bacon / Henry Moore: Flesh and Bone - 12 Sep 2013 to 19 Jan 2014 - This major exhibition will display works by these giants of twentieth century western art. A large collection of paintings by Bacon and sculptures and drawings by Moore have been carefully selected for this show to bring out the similarities and differences between their work.

Drawn from one of the world’s greatest collections of works on paper, ‘Master Drawings’ presents a selection of the Ashmolean’s treasures of Western Art. The exhibition surveys drawings of all types by some of the biggest names in art history- starting with Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael, all the way up to Gwen John, David Hockney and Antony Gormley.
