Owl Cane - In designing this, I was going back to the basics I teach in my student art classes - to break down what you're drawing into simple components. So I thought, "hmm, how about looking at caning that way. Using your simple basic canes to make up larger components to give it detail." There are many very simple canes used to make this very complex cane and I'm going to try this on other images as well…. maybe a dragon or two. =)
Gotta try this: Acrylic paint (enamel works even better, but it's more expensive) on a few smooth rocks. So pretty!

jungle leaves. I really wanted to get that deeply serrated leaf that always looks so 'jungly' to me. I don't have a cutter (if one actually exists) so I came up with this idea. The coke can was really easy to cut and not as dangerous as you would think - I am quite a clumsy person and I didn't come even close to cutting myself. I just folded the metal into a petal shape and used that to cut into the sides of either a leaf or heart shape.
