Yes! Are you??
I LOVE Carol Tuttle's stuff on the types- I've gotten all of my family and most of my friends into it and we now have dressing your truth parties- haha! And I LOVE her take on parenting the different Types- have you read The Child Whisperer?
That is fun! I didn't realize you were into it! I haven't read her book on parenting the types, but I bet it's good. Even though I think she is Mormon, I think the idea of seeing different characteristics in creation and seeing which ones tend to go together (and then using that model for what we wear) seems really neat to me. Modeling after Gods design is an idea that I love. :)
And yes, I am a type 4. It's really helped me in picking out clothes and also realizing why I have things in my closet that I love but never wear. And most of all, John loves the type 4 style/colors on me, and has always wanted me to dress more like that but didn't always know how to show me what he liked. Plus I was always drawn to type 2 things because they didn't draw attention ;-). So it has been a fun journey! Do you try to follow the type 4 stuff pretty closely, or do you have ways that you don't?
Oh so she's mormon?...that kinda makes sense. :) Is your secondary Type 2? My secondary is Type 3, and so I was dressing a mix of Type 3 and 4 before I came across DYT. I actually am pretty strictly "dressing my truth" now, mainly just because now when I wear those other colors (browns and grays) I realize how much it washes me out, etc. I am STILL saving up for a little DYT shopping spree, so all I've done so far is put away anything that's not type 4....and that has literally left all black, with 1 blue shirt. HA! I LOVE LOVE wearing all black....but I'm so ready to go buy some nice bold colors here soon. :) I've tended to wear the right colors without knowing it, but it sooo fun to see some of my friends, specifically my mother-in-law and Esther who had a really dramatic "transformation" when they started dressing your truth. The personality side to it has been just as impacting...helping us understand in another layer how God made us. I had a HUGE light bulb when we found out Jonathan was Type 3 because I had always thought of him as Type 2 (that's the way he was in our relationship), but was really confused about all the Type 3 that was starting to come out of him (in our relationship). It was helped sooo much. Ahh...I don't think I've ever rambled so much on pinterest comments. ;)
Oh man...we all got sick and I forgot about this conversation! I love our crazy long public comments on here, haha :). Yes I really appreciate the personality aspect of it too. John and I read through the types and then read aloud the one we thought was the other person's type: and we were both laughing, they were so custom-true! It had helped us both understand more things about each other: like why John doesn't mind last-minute work and it's too much pressure for me, etc. it's good to be reminded that, except in the case of sin, we are not wrong but just different. And to love and understand those differences. You always were good at dressing your type with the black clothing - I remember that from way back! :). I've never dressed that way really, but I'm working on it. And I don't know if my secondary type is 2 or 1, I relate equally to both I think. Still thinking about that one :)
