Smart Idea: Bread ties keep tape end handy
Add baking soda to the water when you hard boil eggs. It raises the pH of the water and makes them easier to peel by reducing the albumen's ability to stick to the shell. This really worked, most of the shells came off in 1-2 pieces. Also, roll and crack them as much as possible and let soak in ICE cold water for 10 minutes before peeling. Just peeled 18 eggs and didn't tear a single one.

Remove a splinter with baking soda is best for tiny, invisible splinters. Using a baking soda paste it will cause the skin to swell and push the splinter out.
