Homemade carpet cleaning solution: 1 cup oxiclean, 1 cup febreze, 1 cup distilled white vinegar. Pour contents in shampooer tub and mix with hot water to fill tub completely. This will not only clean your carpets, it will also deoderize. It will smell slightly of vinegar until the carpet is dry.

You can use Air Freshener to clean a dry erase board that just won't erase (because the ink is very dried on) . Spray the board and wipe, it also helps "recondition" old dry erase boards.
