Amazing things done with oil rubbed paint! Change out your builder grade brass shower trim using Rustoleum's Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint ... what would cost you $800 to replace, will only cost you $5 to paint. Holds up well with the water because it is indoor/outdoor paint..... (Pinner says: I also did this with my light fixtures when we moved into our house)

Use a bungee cord to instantly hang a second sheer curtain panel behind existing curtains instead of hanging a second pole.

And I find myself slapping my forehead yet again: Wrap cord around unused appliances and velcro... WHY have I never thought of this?!?

Here are some easy life hacks that will make spring cleaning easier.

* For us Southern girls who grew up being told to NEVER EVER wash your cast irons with soap...scrub your cast iron with coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt is a natural abrasive and will absorb oil and lift away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt and wipe dry. FINALLY!!!! Edmond thought I was insane when I told him not to wash it.

If I had stairs . . . A small nook with a light, shelves, and drawer storage. Not only is it relaxing but it would make great use for the space under stairs, especially in a finished basement. It also looks comfy enough for children to use for sleep overs or severe weather.

Glue fake flowers to the bottom of a tall vase (or to stones you could drop in), fill with water, and top with a floating candle.
