What are buildings made of? What makes them strong? Construct buildings using a variety of materials and then test the buildings to find out if they are sturdy.

In the Discovery Area, children are encouraged to test the strength of their buildings. For example use fans and hairdryers to simulate wind. Or stack blocks on top of the buildings to see how much weight the buildings can withstand.

Use a Venn diagram to show which features are found in the homes that people and animals live in. Identify features that are unique and the same in both buildings. This Venn diagram has been set up with hula hoops!
