Chasing Over Air: When using the chasing over air method, there is no support. I’ve only used this technique in conjunction with certain fold forming techniques. Basically, you form a loop (either like a T-Fold, Wedge Fold, or Boat Fold) and then chase into that shape. It is waaaaaaaay less precise than the traditional method of chasing because there is no support for the metal that is being pushed. It does create some great free form designs though.
