Mantel and Bookshelf Decorating Tips: Designer Sarah Richardson makes a statement with a massive antique crest hung above the mantel in her vaulted living room. Originally the logo for and part of Scotiabank’s architecture, the crest reads "Strength, Integrity, Service." The antique's chipped paint suits the room's color palette perfectly while its size is just right to visually fill the space.
living room.. love the ceiling, windows, and fireplace
Comfy bay window seat - great place to curl up with a book!

This traditional porch near Palmetto Beach, South Carolina, employs coastal-style architecture to give this new home old Southern charm with shutters that reach all the way to the ceiling. The folding shutters can be opened to let in light and air or closed for more privacy. The slats can be adjusted to let air circulate. (Photo: Laurey W. Glenn)
I don't know why but every time that I see wooden beams on the ceiling I fall in love but I've fallen in love with more than just the ceiling with this room. I absolutely love the chandelier and the hanging lights as well as the color palette and the bar stools...just about everything in this room I am in love with it!
Clean and Simple.. I like it :)
color scheme: Warm browns and smoky greys make this high-ceilinged space seem more cosy. Sarah decorated this "Millionaire Designer Home" for the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation Lottery. "I wanted it to have a coastal feel: a breezy, light-hearted tone that was sophisticated and elegant, too," she explains. Velvet-upholstered furniture and wood add a sumptuous note, while mirrors sparkle.
