So gorgeous.

Violets, Sir James Dromgole Linton.

'lovely load' by William Adolphe Bouguereau - he had an amazing ability to capture facial expressions beautifully! I could have a whole wall of nothing but his paintings. (well, prints of them, obviously)

Famous jugendstil painting "Princese ar pērtiķi"/"Princess and a monkey" of the famous latvian painter Jānis Rozentāls (1866 - 1916)

Diego Velazquez, 'Las Meninas' (1656). The complex spatial relations of this work have fascinated people for centuries. The artist looks at us while we look at princess Margarita in her white dress. The king and queen are reflected in the distant mirror. Either you, the viewer, are the king and queen, or you’re standing next to them. Painting himself painting the painting we are looking at (aahh!), Velasquez is saying ‘painters are as supreme as royalty!’ May 7, 2012

Lady Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, painted by Thomas Gainsborough in 1787, 13 years into her highly publicized and disappointing marriage. Her life has often been compared to that of Princess Diana. Not only did both live in "love triangles" but they are both Spencer girls. This painting is on the cover of the British version of Amanda Foreman's book, which was the basis for the subsequently made film, "The Duchess" starring the superb Keyra Knightly and Ralph Fiennes.
