Casa Batlló was originally built between 1875 and 1877. In 1900 it was bought by the rich industrialist Josep Battló i Casanovas who commissioned Gaudí to tear down the old house and reconstruct a new one. Gaudí however convinced Battló to remodel the existing building. Between 1904 and 1906 Gaudí redesigned the facade and roof, added an extra floor and completely remodeled the interior.
Casa Milá in Barcelona, or known as La Pedrera, meaning "The Quarry" was built during the years of 1905 - 1910. Architecturally it is considered an innovative work for its steel structure and curtain walls - the facade is self supporting. Other innovative elements were the construction of underground car parking and separate lifts and stairs for the owners and their servants.

Again, this is in Costa Rica, however this pin isn't specifically about Costa Rica. I have an affinity for waterfalls. There is nothing more tranquil or calming to me than the sound of a waterfall in its own secluded oasis. My family used to go hiking frequently, and often times we would find ourselves trekking past smaller but no less beautiful waterfalls. I could lay out and get comfortable, a book in hand, and completely lose myself in the environment.
