This is a great first day/week activity for getting to know students, and they will love it because it involves candy! They randomly choose an M out of the bag, depending on the color they choose they will answer a question about themselves. If some students do not like chocolate you could use Skittles instead. 0642
Adding Details! We always tell kids to "add details" in their writing. This easy visual helps clarify what we're talking about. A mini-lesson (or two or three) on each strategy will produce results in student writing much more than simply saying, "Add details!" ever will. Love it!
Angle Anchor Chart -Students make one & take it home! Tell students to put the poster up in their room & tell parents everything they learned about angles! Next day they have them draw four main angles without anything up in the classroom! Will need is four pipe cleaners, construction paper & tape per student.
Use this “Freebie” as a fun way to review some key fraction concepts including fraction of a set and comparing fractional amounts--key elements in the Common Core. Students may wish to model some of the answers using manipulatives. Each child will either need a snack sized bag of candies or you could fill a small zipper plastic bag with a small amount.
