I used this recipe as a base to make beef lo mein. I made the sauce as the recipe calls, but I didn't have any Chinese 5-spice powder, and I added a little chicken broth. I used veggies I had (broccoli, green cabbage, carrots, green and yellow onions). I had some leftover steak from a meal earlier that I marinated in some of the sauce and fried up after the veggies. After cooking the meat, I added the veggies, noodles and the sauce. It was VERY tasty. Not as healthy as the original, but tasty.
