Christian "Elf on the Shelf" alternative - the "Wandering Wisemen." Move the Wisemen around the house as they search for Jesus. The kids have fun finding them all over the house. They Wisemen can face obstacles, maybe stop for food and drinks etc until Christmas morning when they arrive at the Nativity.

Happy Birthday Jesus Advent activity. Add a "candle" (popsicle stick) to the "birthday cake" each day and each "candle" has a different verse and activity on it...doing this next year!!! :)

Candy Cane Dust - put candy canes in food processor and pulverize - Add to your hot cocoa - Add to your coffee - Add to icing - Sprinkle on cakes and cookies - Add to cake or cookie batter - Dip chocolate pretzels in it - Sprinkle on ice cream or yogurt
