These California University of Pennsylvania study-abroad students worked directly with the London Metropolitan Police. They responded to stabbings, assaults and a home invasion during their time in London. In addition, they worked on crime scenes and honed the criminal investigative practices they learned during class. They also explored present-day White chapel, examining the areas where Jack the Ripper’s victims were found.

The English Institute in Santiago, Chile, was the internship destination for two California University of Pennsylvania students who taught English classes to Spanish-speaking children.
Whether in print, television, or radio, California University students are working hard this summer to deliver breaking news. You may see, hear or read their work through KDKA-TV, WPXI-TV, WJPA, CBS Radio, Whirl Magazine, Minuteman Press and Keppler Press Corp.
Students involved with Cal U’s American Democracy Project will participate in both the Democratic and Republican conventions this year. Students also will be placed in volunteer fieldwork positions with the party, convention committee, host committee, media and other convention-related organizations and events.

A California University of Pennsylvania student recently completed an internship in the library and archives at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. Now her work has been published in the center’s ‘Western Pennsylvania History’ magazine.
Ocala National Forest
Many of Cal U’s students studying earth sciences are spending their summers working in national and state park systems. This summer students are completing their internships with Ocala National Forest in Ocala, Fla. and the Badlands National Park in Interior, S.D.
