acorn craft ~ how to directions using plastic egg, burlap and pine cones
I made these shimmering acorns with real pine cone pieces, hollow mache ball cores, and two colors of beautiful crystalline glitter. Each acorn glitter ornament measures 2 1/2 inches in length, and has a 4 inch twine loop for hanging.
Melted Crayon Ornaments! Take the top off, drop in bits of crayon (colors mix to make other colors), top back on and hold, Use hair dryer heat to the crayons until they begin to melt, & swirl.
Sphere #009 is the same sphere as Sphere #001 and you weave as described for that. I have reduced the size so that the ornament would better fit a Christmas tree. To make it easier to start weaving I have collected 6 arms in one piece. You need 2 x two pieces to make a sphere. Just fix the pieces to form 2 full circles and weave as usual. If you want a simple chequered sphere use 2 colours. Starting with a bodice of coffee dyed wool felt, we hand sew on a skirt of shredded lace and muslin strips. These too are coffee dyed and ribbons and more lace are added as well as rivet to add droplets of findings .
