Dia de Los Muertos
Día de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead holiday as celebrated in Mexico.
The Huichols are an indigenous people who live mostly in Northern Central Mexico. From what I understand through my brief Wikipedia readings, much of their art is based on their religious symbolism – emanating from yearly ritualistic travels into the desert to find and take Peyote. Each animal or figure presents a different experience which they had in the peyote ritual.
Depending on what time it is when you read this, the Day of the Dead may have already passed; however, it is never too late to begin preparing for next year's festivities. In case you are unfamiliar with the holiday, this is a holiday which is not exclusively celebrated in Mexico, but has become more popular there than anywhere else in the world.
