If You Could Meet Any Character From a Book, Who Would You Choose? -- perhaps choose between different characters in different genres

Exploring the mystery genre in the library is a great way to expose students to new types of literature and who doesn't love solving a real crime?

NEW Dr. Jean's Cheer cards have been given a facelift. Here is a collection of all her classic cheers looking better than ever. AND we added a few new ones as well. FREE (I'd use these with all elementary grades. I've seen these make 5th graders grin!)

This would be great for May the 4th! "This was a self-directed game. I used images from the online Star Wars Encyclopedia and edited them in Microsoft Word to add letters. I had game boards showing the pictures (minus the letters). As they found the pictures (which were taped around the room), they filled in the letters from the pictures. The final saying is "Read You Should!" "

Librarian Arika | "Titled “Bring Breakfast, Browse Books” (aka a B⁴ School activity), Pinner invited staff to swing by the library with their coffee, tea, and breakfast to browse our new titles on the way to their classrooms. Books were set out on tables counters, organized by theme: Picture Books for Everyone, High Interest Non-Fiction, Award Winners, Fabulous Fiction, Books for Young Readers. Goal was to make it as bookstore-like as possible with all covers on display."
