Books Worth Reading
A classic childhood favorite, and a beautiful story about the love between a boy and his dogs. Billy and his beloved hounds romp through the Ozarks, in a quest to "tree" the elusive raccoon. In the end, the inseparable trio experiences both adventure and heartbreak. This is the book that turned me into a librarian!
Where The Red Fern Grows
Bared to You
Had to read it before my tween got interested. The series is OK in a "Sweet Valley High" kind of way. Twilight introduces the whole conundrum, New Moon broadens the supernatural creature base, Eclipse is excruciatingly slow, and Breaking Dawn is worthy just for the birth scene. Ewwwww...I need an edited version for my daughter to read!
This one through me for a loop when it switched from Bella 1st person to Jacob 1st person. But, got to admit, Jacob's 1st person commentary was very entertaining. Let's just say he doesn't have much of a filter. The book is broken into 3 parts -- the first and third are from Bella while the middle is from Jacob. Great end to the story.
